When these are lit, they sparkle blue and white against the nacre interior of the shells.
The nearby loo was decorated the same way.

It is has
been decorated using only two shells, Mytilus Edulis, the common blue mussel and
small abalone shells.
Thousands of fiber optic "hairs" were threaded through the little breathing holes of the abalone shells.
